Reach Community Church became so well established in their Northcote premises through a series of seemingly overwhelming challenges and miracles. The vision, faith, sacrifice and drive of the leadership was matched by the congregation and honoured by God. The design is not only an artistic marvel – it was also an expression of the generosity of spirit of this community to open its doors to people from many cultures and to reach into its community – locally and across Melbourne. The design facilitates worship, hospitality and education for children and adults on weekends and all week.

Victor Soo carries a profound commitment to prayer for God’s revival and reformation of our city and nation, and a deep passion for united prayer and worship. Reach Community Church has become one of Melbourne’s key venues for citywide prayer & worship gatherings. The anointed worship enables the Holy Spirit to flow freely in these meetings and the gracious hospitality of the Reach Community welcomes people from many churches to feel at home. Victor mobilises many to pray and intervene when people need protection, guidance and provision.

I met Victor when I was a leader of the Melbourne Pastor’s Network and Transforming Melbourne movement and immediately recognised him as a spiritual elder – a father of this city. We are indebted to Victor & Crystal and the whole of Reach Community Church for their contribution to citywide events, gracious support for our calls to prayer and for consistently hosting citywide gatherings for Partners in Prayer & Evangelism, 40 Days of Prayer, and the National Day of Prayer & Fasting.

Victor Soo faithfully gathers pastors and leaders to pray fortnightly as the CBD Pastor’s Prayer Fellowship I honour him as an alert watchman and man of prayer who powerfully intercedes for our city and nation before the throne of grace and our Parliamentarians. Over the years Victor has been a spiritual father to many pastors and leaders who have met through this regular prayer and fellowship. His counsel has encouraged, discipled and supported many pastors and their families and churches. Many of these congregations gather as one – for special combined services and meals, and regular evenings of United Prayer & Praise throughout the year.

For over 12 years, I have known Ps Victor Soo to be a leader with integrity, consistency, insight, optimism and contagious faith. He is a man who loves God and people with his whole heart, soul and strength. He is an impeccably gracious encourager to many. Through Victor the vision of our Father’s goodness captivates many and continuously multiples in His sons on earth.

“Then [in the final time] I will give you [spiritual] shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and [true] understanding.

It will be in those days when you have [repented and] multiplied and increased in the land,” says the Lord, “…[I will be present].’” Jeremiah 3:15-16 AMP

I extend our love and thanks to the Soo family and Reach Community for sharing your father with so many of us. We thank God for His grace through all of you. May the kingdom of God continue to increase and the Lord’s presence forever dwell among you.
