Reach Community Church Commitment to Child Safety

Reach Community Church is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We have a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. We are committed to creating and maintaining a child-safe and child-friendly organisation where all children and young people are valued and protected from abuse.

All children and young people regardless of their age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious beliefs, ability and family background have the right to be protected from harm and to be treated with dignity and respect. We are an inclusive organisation that recognises, and respects diversity and we are committed to proactively supporting and building the cultural safety and inclusion of all children and young people.

Everyone working or volunteering at Reach Community Church is responsible for the care and protection of children and reporting information about child abuse.

The safety and wellbeing of your children is important to us; hence we have vigorous screening and training measures in place to include all staff and volunteers having a current Working with Children Check, signing on to a Code of Conduct, understanding their responsibilities in the Child Protection Policy, and attending compulsory regular training and education on child safety.

Our Child Protection Policy, Procedures and Code of Conduct seeks to:

  • prevent child abuse occurring within all Reach Community Church environments (in person or online);
  • continually improve on our organisational culture of child safety;
  • ensure that children know who to speak with if they are worried about their safety and that they should be encouraged to voice their concerns;
  • provide a clear statement to employees, leaders, volunteers and contractors forbidding any such abuse;
  • provide guidance on action that should be taken where a person suspects any child abuse within all Reach Community Church environments;
  • provide assurance that any and all suspected abuse will be reported and fully investigated.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to the Child Safe Officer, please contact the church office on 94816889 or email info@reachcc.org.
