Dinosaurs and the Bible
Most folks, particularly children (yes, even Christian children) believe dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. This often leads them to refuting the Bible’s account of the history of the Earth and the book of Genesis. But, did you know dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible? Dr. Carl Wieland will present Creation: a  Key to Dynamic Witnessing at 10.00am on Sunday 12 September. Invite your friends for this special presentation. Welcome
We warmly welcome our overseas guests Chris Krishnasamy and his wife Vijaya into our midst. They herald from Penang Malaysia and will minister at various churches during their 2 week stay in Melbourne. We thank them for their ministry to our church over this period.

CBF To Date

The sum collected in June 2010 for our Church Building Fund was $99,154.05 and the figure for Pledges being $22,150. The total being $121,304.05. Once again, thank you for your sacrifice and obedience to the Call. It is a great honour to be a part of building something with eternal significance. May God lead you to continue with your giving, and also approach your relatives and friends to have them share with their giving towards this worthy cause. Be a part in praying for the Building Committee to consider the next step.

Latest Addition!

Michael and Ivy Lee are now the proud parents of a second child named Charmaine. She arrived on Monday, 5 July 2010 weighing 3.92kg. Mother and child are well and you can visit them at their home.

Build Upon The Rock

You are the true building! So build on The Truth as your foundation. The STEP Classes shall instead start from next Sunday, 18 July. We are exhorted to always study, learn and be trained to be soldiers of The Lord. There is a topic for you. However if you are unsure, STEP 3: Growing in Christ is a good one to equip you to be knowledgeable in the Doctrines about God. Faith comes through understanding of The Word. Your Cell Leader shall approach you about this.

The church requested you play a part by investing into our Church Building Fund by giving through Pledges, and Donations in the last Three Sundays of June. During this period, a total of $99,154.05 was collected. You have been outstanding in the giving of love, hospitality, friendship and joy. Snow Trip
Some folks from church are heading to the hills for some fun and fellowship in the snow to escape the freeze here at sea level. The Young Adults are aiming at Mt. Buller and the Families are going to Lake Mountain on Saturday, 10 July. See Troy Truong and Johnson Oen respectively if you are interested.

Strengthening Oneself
We are called to study The Word of God to demonstrate ourselves as workmen approved of God. We are to be articulate through the knowledge of God so that we can be strong and be sharp against the spiritual wickedness. The following shall be offered at the next Semester’s STEP Classes, and these are STEP 1, STEP 3, Godly Parenting, Worship Part 2 (For Worship Team only) and Kids’ Praise. See attachment for details of topics. Classes start Sunday, 11 July 2010 from 1pm to 2pm for 11 weeks. Be in one and be trained! Register yourself with Cell Leaders.

Mission To Myanmar
A team is being assembled to be a blessing as well as get blessed at this mission scheduled for 14 to 24 January 2011. The Return Airfare from Melbourne to Yangon, Myanmar via Kuala Lumpur is tentatively about $850. A further amount of $600 is needed to cover accommodation, expenses, ministry, travel costs and gifts. Consider planning a holiday around this trip. Register your interest with Ps. Victor Soo.

Corporate Prayer
St. Michael’s Anglican Church will be open from 9am to 11am Saturday  3 July  for a time of refreshing in the Lord’s presence.  Come and wait upon the Lord, intercede for the community and  encourage others with your prayers.
